Mark Simon Hewis
BBC New Talent Filmmaker & AnimatorWhat tips would you give prospective pitchers?
"If you look bored about your own idea than how on earth will you convince someone else that the idea isn’t boring. Clear, quick and enthusiastic.
A pitch for animation should communicate the personality of the film through the personality of the pitcher; they’re the same thing. The film isn’t going to be long, so make the pitch as short as you can without missing out vital information. And vital is the word.
Don’t talk about something for three minutes which is only in the final film for a couple of shots. If you need to show how it'll look, then make the images clear and make sure they don't add any more confusion to the idea. And enjoy it...then other people will."
